We believe every child deserves access to quality education, regardless of the longitude or latitude in which they are born. Education empowers children to make informed decisions, to turn dreams into reality, to reduce their families' struggle, and to facilitate the process of their communities becoming self-sustaining.
Our Vision
We envision African communities and families where children have the opportunity to receive a quality education to define their futures.
We increase access to education and improve the quality of learning for children in Africa. Our approach creates safe and healthy learning environments, strengthens teaching quality, and provides merit-based scholarships. * Create Safe and Healthy Learning Environments We build infrastructure (schools, kitchens, dormitories) and improve basic health and sanitation services at schools (water, daily meals and toilets). * Strengthen Teaching Quality and Enhance Learning in Schools We provide classroom resources that will ultimately equip teachers to teach more effective and efficiently. These resources also enhance students' learning environments. * Provide Education through Merit-Based Scholarships We provide support that covers tuition, exam fees, uniforms, personal effects, boarding, food and learning materials. Our scholarships increase disadvantaged students' access to schools. We achieve our vision and mission through in-country collaborations with visionary local community leaders and education advocates. We work with local program managers who are deeply committed to and passionate about creating change in their villages. We rely on local knowledge and expertise to propose solutions that are viable and sustainable in their communities and cultures.
ADEJEA is teaming up with the School Fees Program of ADEJEA in Rwanda to raise $10,000 by October 15 of every school year to send youth to school in Africa. Each ADEJEA chapter is sponsoring one student by raising the necessary $250 it costs to cover school expenses for a year. In most of the country in Africa, secondary school is not free. Students are expected to pay for their own tuition, books, uniforms, and school supplies. For these youth, education is a way to pull both themselves and their families out of poverty. Education is crucial to a pathway to a better life.
